Absolutely one of our most popular products and quite fun to build! We have made a number of cutting boards out of a variety of materials. A good cutting board complements a kitchen knife, can reduce blade wear, and minimize sharpening needs. Most of our cutting boards are edge grain cutting boards, which have the least material waste in production, but we can do end grain cutting boards as well! Our cutting board materials are mostly of local vendors stock, acquired right here in the Granite State. Our most common materials are Hard Maple, Cherry, and Walnut, with the occasional touch of Padauk and Purpleheart to give vibrant color accents.

Board sizes can vary from our small quick kitchen cutting boards (12 x 8 in) to our butcher’s block sixes (26 x 16 in). We can also add small engraving or wood burning on the boards to personalize them. We will not burn on the cutting surface, only on the outer corners of the boards to keep ash off the cutting surface and prevent easy areas for bacterial growth. The shapes can vary as well, from your standard square cutting boards to our serving, paddle, “whale” boards!

We do also make our own natural food-safe butcher’s block polish, to keep each board as vibrant and beautiful as the day it was made. We decided to develop our own recipe because many other commercially available polishes contain dyes that can dramatically change the color of the wood. Our polish will help keep the wood hydrated, and healthy, as well as protect it from warping. For care, preferred sizes, shapes, and what to expect as a new board owner, check out our blog posts!
