Axes

Journeymans Sorrow – one of the first proper axes reshaped from an old broken ax head, made for a good small carriable ax.

Path Ender – A larger splitting ax made from another broken ax head, cut down to eliminate some weight, while still keeping its blade size and striking face. Handled with hickory and a metal wedge.

Boarding Ax – is an old reforged hammer made of O1 tool steel, allowing for a high hardness and durability. With this it has made a great ax for throwing and wood processing.

Tied-In Hatchet – One of our first attempts at an O1 ax before we had a proper anvil and tools. The blade is hardened and sharp and its weakness is in the fact that it is tied and wedged into place, allowing it will wiggle and move more during heavy use, but it works alright. Designed in a survival style, where the ax head is easily carried while outdoors, where an improvised handled could be rapidly fashioned, as shown below.
